[EP 241] Systematic Review of ICG Use in Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy
Alyssa Katrin CHANG 1
1 Surgery Department, The Medical City, PHILIPPINES

Background : Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is considered the gold standard for surgical treatment of gallbladder disease. The number of bile duct injuries has also increased as laparoscopic cholecystectomy has been increasingly used in the management of symptomatic cholelithiasis. In order to safely perform laparoscopic cholecystectomy, ICG use creates a visual map in order to help identify anatomical variants and therefore decreases bile duct injury.

Methods : Systematic review was performed on articles in English published until January 2024 which were identified on PubMed and Elsevier via specific mesh terms: 'Indocyanine green'/'ICG use’ and 'laparoscopic cholecystectomy'.

Results : A total of 20 clinical studies regarding the use of ICG in laparoscopic cholecystectomy were included in this review. The safety of the ICG was excellent.

Conclusions : I In conclusion, ICG use is promising in identifying the biliary anatomy therefore decreasing the risk of biliary injury.
