Background : One of the most common complications that can occur after pancreatectomy is a pancreatic fistula known as a postoperative pancreatic fistula. It is a risk factor for pseudoaneurysms, a serious complication, and has been known to cause a variety of complications, including intra-abdominal infections. When pancreatic fistulas occur, there are a variety of treatment options, both conservative and invasive, and endoscopic retrograde pancreatic duct drainage is one of the most effective treatments. However, due to its low frequency, evidence-based literature is very scarce. Therefore, diagnosis, treatments are currently based on clinical judgment. This study was designed to compare the prognosis of patients with the above complications observed in a tertiary center performing more than 700 pancreatectomies to determine if a reasonable basis can be established.
Methods : To collect and analyze the medical records of patients who developed pancreatic fistula after pancreatectomy from January 2008 to September 2023 in the single Center, with and without endoscopic retrograde pancreatic duct drainage. Analyze the prognostic implications of these patients based on retrospectively collected data.
Results : To compare the prognosis of patients who developed a pancreatic fistula after pancreatectomy between those who underwent endoscopic retrograde pancreatic ductal drainage (ERPD) and those who did not to determine the impact of drainage on prognosis
Conclusions : To compare the prognosis of patients who developed a pancreatic fistula after pancreatectomy between those who underwent endoscopic retrograde pancreatic ductal drainage (ERPD) and those who did not to determine the impact of drainage on prognosis
